The Chemex is a device that looks like an hourglass-shaped glass carafe with a wooden ring handle. With the Chemex, you can brew excellent filter coffee.

Place the disposable paper filter in the designated slot, then rinse it with very hot water to remove the taste of cellulose, and preheat the Chemex.

After heating the water, pour out the water used for preheating, add the ground coffee to the filter, and pour in the previously heated water.

You're in the pre-infusion phase; at this point, you can wet the entire coffee bed.

Next, pour in the rest of the water needed, using continuous circular motions, taking care never to get the paper wet.

Once the brewing is complete, you can remove the paper filter and serve your coffee.
