ODILIA - PERU

€50
Perhaps this coffee is one of the few that, with full sincerity, we can call Specialty Coffee. We have called it "Elegance in a Cup," and you may wonder why. The answer is simple: it comes from an almost maniacal selection, the result of the work of extraordinary people who wanted to dedicate this coffee exclusively to the Bugan family. We followed step by step the evolution of this batch thanks to a close collaboration with a great friend, who guided and supported us in the realization of this project directly from the beautiful land of Peru. The producer's name is Odilia, and the strength of her coffee is encapsulated in three unique elements:
  • Altitude: grown at 2300 meters, a rarity for such a hot area.
  • Botanical varieties: Typica and Caturra, ancient and valuable cultivars.
  • Origin: the Huancavelica region, one of the poorest in Peru, located in the heart of VRAEM.
The washed processing method gives the coffee a cleanliness and elegance that is truly out of the ordinary. We rarely fall so deeply in love with a coffee. But in this case, we can say that it is perhaps the only one that has given us such an explosion of floral notes, so intense as to evoke an entire field of flowers, both in the nose and in the mouth. Warning: it is addictive. The initial acidity is reminiscent of citrus fruit-grapefruit and tangerine-that then evolves into a surprising floral sweetness, with hints of rose, camellia, magnolia and daisy. The finish? A very clean and stunning aftertaste. The mouthfeel remains incredibly "clean," so much so that a few minutes later you wonder, "Did I really drink coffee?" That's how elegant and polished it is, right from the raw material. Our advice? Don't buy it thinking you are buying "a coffee," but rather an authentic, concrete and unrepeatable experience of what Specialty Coffee really means. We are ready to engage with anyone who wants to explore further. And remember: this is one of the few Direct Trade coffees, carefully and transparently selected throughout the supply chain. The name Odilia pays homage to the extraordinary woman who grows this coffee on her farm in Peru. On the label, you will find a hat drawn: it is her symbol. She makes it by hand and always carries it with her. It is part of her, her value, her history. Thank you, Odilia, for giving us this coffee.
